Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.
Valued at $1.6B, we’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.
Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to design, build, and deploy high-performance electromechanical systems that directly support production. You will own mechanism design, electrical integration, automation build-out, and factory commissioning of robotic systems and automation cells. The expectation is deep technical competence, strong engineering judgement, and ability to independently drive complex systems from concept through production validation.
What You’ll Do
Develop end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for pick-and-place applications
Develop payloads for autonomous mobile robots
Develop industrial electrical systems and control panels
Own the design and release of electromechanical systems
Select and integrate motion components such as actuators, pneumatics, bearings, etc.
Perform system validation, troubleshooting, and structured root cause analysis
Lead hands-on installation, commissioning, and validation of systems on the factory floor, including travel to support multi-site deployments
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
Strong design intuition grounded in first-principles engineering judgment
Deep mechanical fundamentals including statics, dynamics, materials, tolerance analysis
Solid electrical fundamentals including power, signal integrity, industrial safety
Proven experience in electromechanical integration of complex industrial systems
Advanced skills in mechanism design and kinematics for high-uptime automation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What Will Set You Apart
Ownership of DFM and DFA for precision electromechanical systems across suppliers and production processes
Ownership of system-level integration and validation in industrial environments
Working knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing-grade standards
Familiarity integrating industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc.) into automation cells
Familiarity with PLC-based controls (Siemens, Rockwell, Honeywell, etc.)
Comfort with basic scripting to support automation, diagnostics, or system integration (Python, structured text, etc.)
Compensation
For this role, the target salary range is $130,000 - $220,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
